Cure the winter blues by planning for spring with our Sustainable Gardening Panel. Bring your questions about all aspects of gardening: Permaculture, community gardens, composting, plant selection, etc. Try to stump our esteemed bunch of green thumbs: Kate Heiber-Cobb, Permaculturist Designer/Consultant, Sustainability on Stilts, and founder of Madison Area Permaculture Guild; Joe Mathers, Community Gardens Specialist, Community Action Coalition; Emily Steinwehe, Plant Exchange organizer, and Naturalist with Aldo Leopold Nature Center; and Brad Kaellner, Permaculture Designer/Consultant, and Master Composter.
Green Tuesdays: Films & Lectures on Sustainability is the enlightening and entertaining series of lectures, films, and conversations on sustainable living brought to you by The Natural Step Monona and the Monona Public Library. Green Tuesdays are on the second and fifth Tuesdays of the month. The series is free and open to the public. Sessions start at 6:30 and run until 8:00, with engaging and fun conversations often pushing the conclusion a bit past that hour.
New this year, Whole Foods will be serving treats beforehand, so come early for delightful food and drink.
Also new this year, the May through August presentations will be outdoors, weather-permitting. These will be hands-on things such as demonstrations of electric cars, lawn tools, and the like, or lessons in sustainable gardening practices.
Return to The Natural Step Monona website again soon. More presenters and films will be announced shortly.
